Who’s on Stage in 2012

Welcome Music Lovers! If you’re here, you’re here for a look-see at who’s on deck for this year’s Jubilee. Before we bang off the list of names we want to say just one thing, well, it’s a promise really. The Jubilee is totally committed to the unique formula the event was built on: staging a genre-busting line-up at one of the lowest price points available and putting the region’s up & coming talent on the bill alongside the big names. Oh, and there’s one other thing …making sure the sound experience is superb.

Every year we build a program that we and 15,000 or so of our closest friends would want to see. Looking forward to doing it again this year.

Please check back for the line up, which will be announced early in 2012

Jubilee in January: Celebrating Pictou County's Music Ambassadors
featuring Dave Gunning, The Stanfields, Alert the Medic and Fleur Mainville

This event took place: January 14, 2012

Read a review on the Jubilee Blog.

Dave Gunning: The veritable Godfather of the Pictou County music scene. Just about everyone involved in the music industry here has worked with Dave in one capacity or another and many success stories in the business that have come from here have really begun with Dave. Dave has received nearly 30 ECMA and Music Nova Scotia nominations over the course of his career. He has six ECMA trophies, seven Nova Scotia Music awards and most recently he added two Canadian Folk Music Awards to his shelf. http://www.davegunning.com/

The Stanfields: The Stanfields, who have collected four Nova Scotia Music Awards and an ECMA, have seen their career soar in the past year and a half on the strength of their debut CD, “Vanguard of the Young and Reckless”. They have toured across the country countless times, opened a series of dates south of the border and in Canada for Flogging Molly and received airplay on Much Music with their award winning video for “Ship To Shore”. The Stanfields will be debuting a gamut of new material, a sneak peak of sorts, as they prepare to head into the studio to record a new album early in 2012. http://thestanfields.ca/news/

Alert the Medic (ATM): has earned a reputation as one of the most compelling live rock bands on the East Coast. Their second CD “We The Weapon”, released in 2009, has produced two singles that have reached the Canadian Active Rock charts. The video for the third single on the album, “The Weatherman (Pt. 2) has received airplay on Much Music. ATM has garnered a total of nine ECMA and Music Nova Scotia award nominations over the past several years. http://www.alertthemedic.com/

Fleur Mainville: Fleur began a solo career in 2002, and has since released six recordings including her most recent CD “Once”. Fleur’s dynamic fiddling style and charm has earned her a reputation as one of the most influential players on the East Coast. Fleur has stepped out from behind the fiddle to introduce us to a new and extraordinary instrument - her voice. http://fleurmainville.ca/
